WHY DONATE TO PEC FINANCES?

Steven Womack was homeless when he came to the Salvation Army.  He felt pensive having lost confidence in his ability to make sound decisions.  

Steve’s caseworker told him it was mandatory to attend PEC Finances Financial Literacy Workshops to learn money management skills.  Steven attended this life-changing workshop that helped him to understand his needs vs. his wants, develop a  budget, acquire and manage a checking and savings account at a growing credit union, and more.  It gave him the ability to take control of his finances and his life.  

"I'm extremely grateful for everything I learned in her class and for the checking and savings account [s] she set up for me at America First Credit Union.  After completing her class and graduating from the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) culinary program on November 1st of 2017, I soon found employment as a cook at T-Mobile Arena.  I am currently receiving direct deposit for my wages into my America First Credit Union account.  I have been paying my bills, buying all my own groceries, recently purchased and paid cash for a brand new scooter, and I'm continuing to maintaining [sic] financial independence.  I am very proud to say that I have saved $5,000 in my savings account so far. "
